Downtown Style: MIA Ultra Lounge

Downtown Style: MIA Ultra Lounge

by Lianamar Davila Sanabria
Venues come in all shapes and sizes- some are lounges, some are bars and some are full-on nightclubs. But this 14,000-square-foot venue, MIA Ultra Lounge, happens to be a 3-in-1 deal where they blend each to create a nightlife venue that’s just right for almost everyone.

MIA Ultra Lounge, located on the corner of Flagler and Biscayne, is a unique place for those looking for a one-of-a-kind dining, lounging and entertainment experience in Downtown Miami. Their L-shaped, outdoor patio wraps around Biscayne Boulevard, creating the perfect setting to dine alfresco or take in the bay views while enjoying one of their all-natural, made-to-order cocktails.

MIAmixes up their outdoor lounge with an indoor club area designed by Isaac Valdes. After you get over its sheer size, the next thing you'll surely notice is their liberal use of purple, orange and pink. The soaring ceilings, oversized couches and double-height translucent curtains are pretty spectacular as well.

MIA Ultra Loungefeatures a unique design including a built-in event stage and state-of-the-art sound system. They’re also home to the first United States outpost to incorporate the European concept of interactive technologies into its design, such as the iBar and iWall, a 16-foot media screen.

Executive Chef Gerdy Rodriguez, who used to whip stuff up at Karu & Y and 1 Bleu, prepares creative takes on culinary classics while fusing the international flavors of Spain, Asia and Latin America into one melting pot, similar to the city of Miami. The menu at MIA Ultra Loungeserves lunch, dinner and even late-night options for when that unexpected hunger strikes. Some of their signature dishes include Pan Roasted Organic Chicken, Beef Tenderloin and Seafood Parrillada. We suggest you try their interesting-looking “round” croquetas that still taste just as good as the original ones (if you’re not familiar with this Latin snack, they’re usually a more rectangular shape).

MIA Ultra Lounge's outdoor area is perfect for relaxing with a cocktail after a long workday. Their lounge comes in handy when you want to pursue a conversation with someone you just met on the dance floor. Like we said, it’s perfect for everyone.
