Quick Tips: The Perfect Super Bowl Beer

The big game is just around the corner, and while we're all praying for our hometown teams to go through the playoffs successfully, a majority of us are already beginning to plan our parties. There's nothing like a good Super Bowl party, but you have to make sure that all the right things are in play. Wings, chips, dip and grilled meat is all a must for a successful Super Bowl party. However, if there's one ingredient that either makes or breaks your Super Bowl party it's the beer. But you just can't get any kind of beer for your party, so we've put together a short list of some characteristics it needs to have.

Light

It's the Super Bowl! The biggest game of the year requires there to be a lot of beer, and chances are that all of that beer will be gone by the end of the 4th quarter. This means that you have to stick with a light beer that's not only going to be a bit cheaper for you (so go with American) but is easier to consume. Men think in numbers when it comes to beer, so the more the merrier. Some good brands to look out for include Coors Light, Bud Light and Miller Lite. Light beer is always more refreshing as well.

Cold

There's only one way to drink a beer, and that's to make sure that it's near freezing temperature! We don't care how they do it overseas, in America beer's only served one way, cold, none of that room temperature nonsense. If you invite guests to your place for a Super Bowl party and the beer is warm, expect the place to clear out, no matter what the score is. If you're looking to keep the brew in prime drinking condition, try ice in the tub, or empty out a big garbage bin and fill it with ice. You're guests will be pleases throughout the evening, guaranteed! Which leads us to the next point.

Cans

Cleaning up after a party can be quite the pain in the ass, but cleaning up after a Super Bowl party is just a nightmare. Would it be easier for you to pick up bottles or cans? If you're looking at it from a recycling standpoint then there's no clear-cut winner, but from a consuming standpoint cans always tend to get the beer colder than bottles. The colder the beer the better the party, just make sure you have some beer-coozies for your guests, napkins just won't do the trick.
