Miami in March: WMC or Ultra

Miami in March: WMC or Ultra

by CoolJunkie

It's nearly mid-January, meaning that March is just around the corner. For most electronic music fans, this time of year usually means that it's time to book flights and hotels for the end of March. But this year, things are different. Ultra Music Festival and Winter Music Conference don't coincide anymore, so, it's pretty much time to decide folks. Will you be booking your travel arrangements from March 8-12 when Winter Music Conference will take place? Or will it be in the last week of March when Ultra Music Festival takes place, not to mention the same timeframe when both events used to coincide.

It's really a win-win situation regardless of when you choose to land in Miami. While the weather is usually on point throughout the month, it may be a bit warmer toward the later dates. But if it's the music that you're concerned about, and chances are that it is, remember that this year Ultra Music Festival has locked down some exclusive performances, meaning you can only catch names like Tïesto, Carl Cox, David Guetta, deadmau5 and Steve Aoki at the festival. Nearly 70% of the talent that's booked to play at Ultra are exclusively signed to the festival. This could definitely have people thinking twice about heading to Miami earlier in the month.

Then again there are the true electronic dance music fans that have shown support for Winter Music Conference throughout the years and will definitely have their backs during this time. Club Space was the first to announce that they'd be hosting their events during the WMC dates, and the Surfcomber also seems to be following their route.

The real winner in this is the city, which will be seeing a spike in their tourism revenue throughout the month. Hotels will definitely be spiking up their prices for that month, as well as most restaurants and shops in South Beach and downtown Miami.

Whether you choose to come in early or late March, you'll still be able to indulge in some of the best electronic music in the world.
