Miami Nightlife Could Kick Up This Summer

by Marcos Colón

What's been touted as one of the most eventful months in nightlife history for Miami has finally come to an end. March in Miami gave us a slew of events thanks in part to Winter Music Conference, Ultra Music Festival, and the Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel. Our European visitors are nearly all gone now leaving many depressed that the fun and chaos is all done and over with. While the major events may be over, nightlife tends to get a bit more interesting in April and into the summer. DJ bookings to slow down quite a bit in the summer because Ibiza gets most of the attention, but with Mansion, Space, LIV, and Arkardia all vying to bring in the best name any given weekend, this summer should be a lot more interesting than previous years.

As far as nightlife in Miami goes, there's never been more competition than there is now. Gone are the days when one club would rule Washington Avenue because they attracted the biggest names by paying top dollar. It seems as though promoters all across the city are at their best.

If you happen to think that things are going to slow down in Miami nightlife in April and this summer, thing again. Sure, we're no Ibiza and dance music still doesn't get as much attention as it does in Europe. However, we're slowly getting there.
