Recap: Liaison Boat Party

Recap: Liaison Boat Party

by Cooljunkie

We've always been a bit wary about boat parties, but that all changed yesterday when we boarded the Liaison Boat party featuring some of the best up and coming talent in Miami music week. As the captain left the Bayside port, the first sounds of music didn't come from one of the Liaison artists, but from the Ultra Music Festival, that kicked off at 4 p.m. J. Philip kicked off the party with a groove-filled set, and Miami's own Lazaro Casanova followed up with rare classic vocal house sets inside. Casanova's set was one of the more memorable ones, while Boston's Tanner Ross really blew us away once he took over the music upstairs. The sun slowly began to set in the distance as Ross' set was peaking, making it one of the most memorable moments of the week.

Once off the boat, it was evident that the crowd was raring for more action, as many scattered quickly to make shows at nearby clubs like Space and The Vagabond. Some even had time to catch the headliners at Ultra Music Festival.

If Liaison decides to put together another boat party next year, it's definitely an event that everyone should consider. Sure the names aren't as big as you'd get at Ultra, but we guarantee you that the music is just as good.
