Budget Clubbing: Surviving on a $40 Night in Miami

[Article Written by Sandra Hurtado]

The inspiration: $40 a day with Rachel Ray. Why: With the economy in such a shaky state, who wouldn’t want to spend as little money as possible when partying in attempts to wind down and forget about that very same problem? For all you disbelievers, trust me, it can be done and you wouldn’t believe how easy it is to pull it off and go to some really great places that promise a really great time.

Sure, partying for less would be easier if you had a loyal D.D. and knew every club owner in town, but for all the common folk that just don’t have that kind of connection, a few pointers are in order. First off, leaving the house early is key. Most specials in night clubs and bars are for the early birds and sometimes only run up until the rest of the world comes out to play, usually meaning before midnight or one o’clock in the morning. Second, check out what specific nights are the more affordable ones. Ladies, there are always ladies nights around town and men, yes, there are open bar nights at some venues. It might not be a bad idea to add CoolJunkie to your favorites tab on Firefox so you can look up these nights on a daily basis, just a thought.

From The Grove to South Beach, CoolJunkie has done the tedious work and created three scenarios at three party destinations in Miami on the most common nights to go out. For kicks we even threw in some money for a bite to eat after a drunken good time and also didn’t forget about the monster of a problem that transportation can be for shallow pockets. Feel free to add any other nights/specials in the comments section that we may have overlooked or may even be better than those that we listed.
