Space today officially announced that popular local DJ Cedric Gervais will be joining the club as a Saturday night resident.
Previously a resident at Crobar on Saturdays, Cedric will move downtown and be spinning in Space's main room alongside Oscar G from July 24th onwards.
Rumors have circulated for the last few weeks that Cedric would be moving on, following the appointment of Ultra's Alex Omes as National Music Director at Crobar, who plans to bring back prominent guest DJ's to Saturday nights at the Cameo.
Up to this point Saturdays at Crobar had traditionally been the domain of Cedric with guests appearing very rarely.
Asked to comment on the changes taking place in Miami clubland, Space owner Louis Puig said, "This industry is going through some very hard times. Now more than ever we should be supporting our local talent, I am very happy to have Cedric at Space."
Meanwhile Oscar G's Murk partner Ralph Falcon has been installed as the new Saturday night resident at Crobar, increasing Murk's considerable influence on Miami nightlife.
Ralph's reputation as a DJ has grown significantly over the last year with regular appearances at several Miami venues, and a residency at a large venue looks to be the perfect move for him at this point.
Back in downtown and with Oscar G, Roland, Cue, Cedric Gervais and occasionally Ivano Bellini now counted on their roster, Space have assembled an impressive lineup of local talent to ensure that their Saturdays continue to thrive, and with Cedric playing early in the main room it seems that one of their aims is to maintain an early crowd as well as the afterhours they're so well known for.
It's never boring here in Miami's clubland, and CJ will always be first with the latest news from inside the scene. Keep it here...
