Like them or not, Deep Dish has indisputably become an institution in the realm of dance music, being a fundamental mechanism to the progression of the genre.

A boundless well of innovation and creativity, the Grammy winning duo has mastered the art of matching distinctive and diverse beats and rhythms to continuously construct a sophisticated and smooth blend of tunes.

Over the course of their career, the entrepreneurial team consisting of Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi has not only brought us the deep house driven, jazzy-rock blazing masterpiece Junk Science in 1998, but also countless acclaimed remixes and albums, in addition to finding three record labels (Yoshitoshi Recordings, its sister label Shinichi Records, and the new offshoot YO! which they A&R), and a DJ agency, Bullitt Bookings.

Dance music would not have reached its ever evolving and developing production plateau and vast diversity without the talents of the two pioneers.

As where there is smoke, there is a fire, it was no surprise that the genius behind Deep Dish rubbed off on young talents, such as the Yoshitoshi promoted and currently igniting DJ and production duo, Chris and Kai.

Supported greatly by Deep Dish, Chris and Kai have over the last couple of years carved themselves a solid and respectable reputation in the dance music landscape.

Their latest remixes for Yoshitoshi include the Sumo produced Voodoo Island Dub and Paradise Island mix for the track "Yes We Will" on YO! as well as a display of their own production skills on "Suffocation" and "Catch Me," a cover of the 80's track, "Catch Me I'm Falling" by Pretty Poison starring Jade Starling on vocals.

Enjoying great acclaim and praise for their latest releases, Yoshitoshi invited all dance music devotees to gather on Friday January 16th at the cozy, yet spacious, underground haven of cutting-edge music, the Sullivan Room, to celebrate the release and success of Chris and Kai’s most recent productions.

Albeit the arctic weather conditions, a crowd started forming inside the intimate venue rapidly while Chris and Kai warmed the place up behind the decks.

It didn’t take long for the music fans to unthaw as progressive tunes such as the club classic “Hazin and Phazin” by Harry Choo Choo Romero filled the room with punching 4-4 beats.

Around one o’clock Jade Starling took the stage along with two dancers performing the newly remixed version of “Catch Me.” Jade’s soulful and energetic appearance added an extra touch of finesse and excitement to the night, as Chris and Kai kept the beats going.

A guaranteed earworm, the live performance of “Touch Me” was a special treat to the audience, depicting the talent of both the vocalist and the production team behind the record.

Following an appreciative applause for Jade, the beats kept coming as Chris and Kai took the listeners on a journey through the many genres that electronic music offers.

The night continued with thumping and upbeat records courtesy of Marin Solveig’s “Rocking Music” and Nathan G’s “Party Hardy” evolving into spacey, deep breaks levels with the Djs’ duo original 2003 Aphasia acid island mix of “Acapulco.”

Dance Music 101 resumed with Chris and Kai venturing on into the progressive sounds of BC’s “Switch It” and polishing off their flawless and vibrant set paying tribute to club classics such as Underworld’s “King of Snake” and Kid Vicious’ “Strange Love” Bootleg.

Throughout the entire night, the Sullivan Room was pulsating and enjoying the exuberant house music lesson given by their hosts.

Definitely, be on the look out for these talented two guys in Miami and Ibiza, as there is much more talent to be revealed by the duo this year.
