You wanna pay $20 cover? Ha. Okay, you're willing to buy a bottle? Tough. For some clubs, there's only one way to get in: membership.
Paid membership. For a steep, steep price.
As this morning's NY Post reports, more and more New York clubs are switching to a "Members Only" system, the kind that dominates London nightlife.
A "cheap" membership, like the one at Frederick's, is "only" $1,200 a year. Something slightly more pricey, such as The Core Club, will set you back a $60,000 membership fee. Refundable, but still.

"IF you thought passing the co-op board or getting into preschool was tough, try getting into New York's ever-expanding number of "member clubs." Membership costs thousands of dollars - and the right friends…."
