We here at CoolJunkie are huge fans of old-school hip-hop. We’re talking Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and the likes of Black Sheep, who recently just played in South Beach. So when we heard that Mansion would be opening up next Tuesday night for an old-school hip-hop party, we were pretty ecstatic, however, we weren’t sure if it was actually going to happen. But, it’s all true, and it will be official next Tuesday as they welcome in one of the most respected hip-hop acts of the 90s, Brand Nubian.

On October 6th, Mansion presents their all new Tuesday party (looks like a monthly for now), ‘Rewind,’ an 80s and 90s Throwback, featuring the music of Brand Nubian to kick things off. Thanks to Mansion, and new up and coming promotion company Traffik, a lot of our favorite old-school hip-hop groups will be coming into Mansion and refreshing our memories with some of their classic tracks and performances. This is the first one-off show, but if things look good next Tuesday night, expect this party to either be more to a more prominent day of the week, or even become a weekly. You’ll be hearing a lot more from Traffik, as they look to stake their claim in the hip-hop bookings in the city. They have more surprises in store in the near future.
