Miami definitely sees its fare share of world-class DJs. Names like Richie Hawtin, Erick Morillo and even Tiësto have graced the marquee of Mansion and have packed clubs like Space. But it’s not everyday that a true legend pays a visit. This Saturday happens to be one of those days as Miami’s latest addition to the nightlife circuit, The Vagabond, hosts Little Louie Vega.
A legend in the DJ world since he played block parties in the Bronx back in 1985, Louie Vega began to build up his credentials at a young age, playing those parties, mixing and engineering, and gaining residency status at New York legendary nightclubs the Palladium, Studio 54 and The Sound Factory Bar, one of the most influential nightclubs for house music. Vega’s also known for being one-half of Masters at Work, the house music production team that includes Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez. The name definitely does the duo justice as they are both truly masters at work when they get together.
Visiting The Vagabond for the first time during Winter Music Conference, Louie Vega now comes back to bring his signature style that creates a unique and explosive party that takes your ears back to the start of it all, while adding contemporary components and tracks that keep it fresh.
Opening up during the week of Conference, The Vagabond is already beginning to make its mark in the nightlife scene as one of the more eclectic venues that encompass the true essence of cool. From the fountain that provides both water and fire in the outside area, to the giant mural of Bob Dylan on the side of the venue, The Vagabond is becoming a haven for those in search of a great time with great service that starts at the door and carries on through to the bar.
Saturday night at The Vagabond should make for a special event, if not the premier event of the week. Louie Vega will undoubtedly bring the noise and continue to build up the stellar reputation of The Vagabond.
