What’s going on Junkies!

Last week I completely forgot to upload the latest in my adventures in nightlife, so guys I owe you one. It’s just been super crazy out here!

With Ocean Drive fashion week and getting back to the nightlife scene, I simply just overlooked it. But I managed to set up the Ocean Drive schedule on the Weekly Threads. So don’t forget to check that.

Last week was intense. After a quick stop at the Ocean Drive Fashion event at Armani Exchange with a mix of people staring at male models in their underwear. I don’t remember seeing the female models, but then again, who could blame me after that skin party with the boys.

Then I was off to The Carnival Center Kick Off Party that went on without a hitch at Hotel Victor. Most of the night it was raining but I still made it over to mix and mingle with more than a few familiar faces. I sipped on Ecstasy Vodka cocktails and had hors d’oeuvres prepared by Executive Chef Vincent Muraco of Vix.

Sneaker pimpin…

I also did the Sneaker Pimps Tour but almost left early because it was a cash-only bar. Then I ran into my girl who hooked me up with the VIP bar and my mood changed. But we all left early without seeing Slick Rick because it was too damn hot. No matter how many Apple Cognac cocktails we had, it was just nasty to walk around. But it was nice to see all the sneaker freaks out there that included some of Miami’s trendiest all the way to Fat Joe and our local fresh kids.

Now this week there is more.

Starting this Wednesday my Caribbean friends, you know its time for the Miami Carnival. The Socavivor party will be held at the Opium Garden with special guests Machel Montano and Benjai who’ll heat up the crowd, with Mr. Dale, Barbados’s road march champion. Sounds like it’s going to be a hot and sweaty dance party! Wear orange or pink and admission is $10 before midnight.

Film buffs, listen up. This week is the Italian Film Festival Miami starting today Tuesday, October 2nd through October 9th with films showing at Regal Cinemas on South Beach. Besides catching a great film, you can also enjoy several events around town with your movie tickets, like after parties at various night clubs, pre-cocktails and bites at Italian restaurants and boutiques like Napapijri.

This film fest is “come il cacio sui maccheroni” because I’ve been in the mood for travel. Tickets and info can be found at www.cinemaitaly.com.

Sexy visuals at CIFO

Also, if you happen to need to get your creative visual juices going, visit CIFO for the exhibition of 10 Latin American artist-recipients of the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation 2007 Grant. I was there last week and loved it. With a few video rooms, one included a mix of a political and musical version of presidential speeches. There is a too hot to handle room with video of a couple doing things in the sexiest way (that room is only for 18 an older…now I have your attention). I’m going back this week just to keep my juices flowing and to view that couple – er, I mean the political musical mix. Free, but get information on www.cifo.org.

For other events, check out my picks this week and keep on dancing.
