Hello Junkies!
Have you guys been taking advantage of the great outdoors? Man, it’s gorgeous out there with cool breezes and clear blue skies during the day and fabulous purple skies in the evening. I have and I’ve been walking.

| Sunset view from South Beach | |
If you live on South Beach, why wouldn’t you take a nice stroll on the beach after work? Seriously. And how about that Lincoln Road. A sea of people walk around on any given weeknight with their companions, either man or dog, and sometimes one of South Beach’s stray cats sneak in on the walking action.
I took advantage and went to the Tottem Gardens at Karu & Y for the Freestyle party on Friday. Mixed crowds of fresh faces and the classic nightlifers enjoyed mingling while some big ballers had bottles of magnumn champange brought out to their tables with the ever so flashy sparkler. How tacky, but I’m not turning my nose down for a glass of sparkly…please pass the strawberries with that!
I must be on a Karu high. If you are an Eric Morillo fan, you will be able to enjoy the gorgeous downtown hot spot on Saturday the 24th. Tickets are not what they use to be so get them in advance because at the door, they will be a slighty higher and you can save that for the valet parking I insist you get if you don’t know the area. Just a bit shady.
A couple of DJ’s mixing on our beaches this weekend I personally like are StoneBridge who will be at Prive on Friday night and David Guetta makes his magic happen at Space Sunday early morning. My thighs already hurt from all the dancing.

| Last years 80s Prom | |
The annual 80s Prom by Lolo of Sweat Records, will be at Circa 28 on the usual Pre-Thanksgiving night with a live band, classic 80s music and shoulder pad fashions. It’s free to get in, drinks are pretty reasonable and there is ample parking around the hood. The first floor bar is open early for the happy hour crowd to start your night right.
Then there are the White Parties with groups of all boys or all girls dressed in white hitting the clubs like the ladies will on Friday for the big Nikki Beach party and the boys take over Karu on Friday night till 10 am. Yes, Karu will be open till 10 in the morning with sales of alchohol ending sharply at 5 am but that doesn’t mean the music can’t go on.
New faces hit the night scene every season and mixed up with us regular folk. Some born the year I graduated from high school are hitting the clubs in the usual reckless behavior (as they should be) at the newly opened Rokbar, in the pool at Delano or keeping it quite grimy in the downtown artsy scene. More fashionable parties and fashion news in our Fashion Section and on Weekly Threads. Mira ver.
You all know how much there is to do this week, so get out there. Happy Thanksgiving & see you all on the dance floor!

Dot Allison – Colour Me (1999). A relaxing track for chilled evenings.
Weekly Picks
Tuesday Tuesday nights at Mokai, the uptown scene meets the downtown scene. Spot the bottle and you are sure to spot the scene with dancing on tables and chain cigarette smoking to the sounds of DJ Ross One.
Thursday Chances are most of you haven’t been to Abrarax on South Beach. I’ve mentioned it in the past and here it is again. This bar serves wines and beers from around he world but don’t expect Budwiser here. There’s never a cover, its an intimate setting and the great prices on drinks keeps the locals coming back. Chloë Sevigny came out a couple of weeks back on for the Thursday night party Apartment 407 where Ray Milian & crew have it locked down with chill dance sounds and an eclectic crowd.
Friday – Social at the Sagamore are where the fabulous of South Beach chic turn up. Here, there are no worries about drink specials. If you get in, enjoy the atmosphere of the white space with art everywhere you look. This is where the ‘need to be seen’ are found drenched in their heavy fashion artillery down to the shoes.
Sunday – Airports are packed, roads are bumper to bumper, and as much as I want to see Enchanted, large crowds in the daytime bug me out. I’m thinking of salsa dancing and rum and cokes by the poolside at Tia’s house. The Raleigh Hotel has a nice pool party on Sunday evenings that lasts till night fall as well as The Standard – only they have a hip bingo game which starts at 9 pm with live DJ and the downtown scenesters.
