Hey Junkies!
This week I had help from my comrade in the nightlife as I get going with the season endings, he helped me get GAT in order....
As Cooljunkie turned 7 years old this past weekend, we found ourselves celebrating as if it was our very own birthday. It all started on Friday night as Parkwest opened their doors for its grand opening with their fresh off the presses event: Stereo.
To commemorate the opening, Parkwest had a champagne reception ‘til midnight, which from what we saw, many took great advantage of. Yes, there was lots of dancing, partying, but with the CJ celebrating their big seven, we had to run back and forth.
After having a few glasses of champagne and chatting it up with nightlife peeps, we made our way to Cooljunkie’s birthday party at the Pawn Shop Lounge. We decided to walk over since it was just a few blocks away. It was good to see lots of people walking around the area, making the trek a bit safer.

| Celebrations with Richie | |
We got there a few minutes right after Richie Hawtin had taken over the decks. Upon entering, you could definitely tell that this party was going strong and only getting stronger. This was our second ever Richie Hawtin party, the first was this past WMC, we both forgot just how good of a DJ he was – or let me say is.
Our next and final stop was Space to see the Juicy crew and Robbie Rivera. In case you weren’t aware, Space now has after hours on Fridays in their all new terrace. I don’t remember the last time we were at Space, but it felt like just yesterday with some familiar faces and that Space vibe you can’t replicate.
Saturday night was a continuation of Friday. Back at Space, up to the sun was out and we were drained from the Space-capade.
Getting out of bed on Sunday was some what of a challenge and the cold front that was moving in made it no easier. By the way, thank goodness for the cooler fresh air. This December has been a hot one!! Let’s just hope more great weather continues to come our way. Nothing makes my holidays feel better than some cold weather. Guess that’s just the New Yorker in me.
And speaking of cold weather, it just reminded me of a friend who swears by Siegfredo’s hot chocolate. They only serve it during the cooler weather, so time to take advantage of that.
It’s time to head back to the holiday craze we have going here at the office. This week I made my “Weekly Picks”. Enjoy!
