2005 was a great one for me and last week I partied with the people who made it all happen.

The unofficial Junkie Holiday Party happened at Shine last Friday night with DJ Hector Romero and Satoshi Tomiie. Long story short, this was the best party in Miami and on the beach Friday night and honestly, I missed a couple of other parties, because it was just that good. In a crowd of friends, acquaintances, smiling faces and dancers, I found Jon Cowan to wish him well.

The Junkies talked about NYE and how they were going to bring it in. Many are not decided but some will be returning to Shine to find their place on the dance floor, by the pool side or on the beach with the house legend, Frankie Knuckles.

For those of you who love house music, let The Godfather of House, take you on his ride into the New Year. You will dance all night and hear music that is not often played in Miami (i.e. Felix Da Housecat at Amika last week) and savor a night of great music in one of this year’s new club.

To get in and dance, it’s $100 and this includes Premium Open Bar from 9 – 10 pm. To have a table of 5, with 1 bottle of Veuve Clicquot or Moet champagne and 1 bottle of liquor of choice, including tax and tip, it’s a little under $2,000. It’s right on the beach front so you can just walk over at 5 am after and wait for the sun to rise.

Some people like to travel and up by Surf Side you can leave the country for an evening of sensuality in Morocco and be back in time to watch the orange drop on Biscayne. Moroccan Nights, a unique and intimate restaurant is a perfect place for a special evening.

Their pre-fixed menu is an easy $100 a person. That price includes a five-course menu, two glasses of champagne and live belly dancing shows. That’s a deal. The first starts at 6:30, then 8:30 and the third at 10:30. For reservations please call 305-865-5333.

On the other end, if you want glamour, The Setai provides a nice $7,500 meal ticket for you and 9 other guest. After a delicious meal in The Restaurant, you are whisked away to a private pod in their beautiful courtyard, where 2 bottles of liquor, 2 bottle of champagne and assorted mixers await you.

Concerts are another way to go.

The amazing hip hop group, The Roots will be beating the drums and pouring knowledge on those who need to know at club/concert hall, Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale. Open Bar from 9 – 10, champagne toast at midnight and tickets are $70.

From the I-can’t-believe-he’s-alive file, Vanilla Ice performs at Pawn Shop, near a neighborhood he wished he was raised. DJ’s Gunars and Juan Mejia will make it all better with their array of music.

This ticket is actually a pretty good one. The $50 cover price gets you in, but you provide the cash to drink. Or for another 25 bucks ($75 total), gets you open bar. But if you’re like me, the winner will be the Open Premium Bar, the good stuff, for just $100, plus Vanilla Ice, a great venue, cool DJs and next to the high way to avoid traffic.
