Oooops, I did it again!
Yeah….I returned to Space – for another fantastic night of house music and dancing debauchery. I’ll admit I started off at another party that left me high and “dry” and with the mood I was in, I had to have a cocktail to calm down. So in order to bring my self to a happy place I had to loose control and dance off my aggression. As they say, Saturdays belong to Space, so I called up my family at Space and they took me in.
I was there no more than two hours, if that, but in that time, I let go of any foul mood I was in and let the beat take over me. Appropriately, that night was the Addicted To Drums Party. Me, my crew and their friends found our way to the dance floor and landed at the right place at the right time.
Somehow, we ended up right smack in front of Oba Frank Lords. Minutes after some dancing, he began performing the hit classic – Dark Beat with Murk on the decks. Se me entro algo…

| Ed Rush at Laundry |

But that wasn’t the only spiritual encounter I had last week. A close second was mother effing Ed Rush at Laundry Bar. Once he took over the turn tables, he had the command of every body – b-o-d-y. But that comes as no surprise to anyone who knows DnB. Those who were there will tell you what a ‘sick’ party it was.
My personal experience in clubland this summer was not the most thrilling. I thought it was going to end up dull without any real excitement, but then I remember what I keep preaching to all of you, here on GAT and the CJ Boards. Get out and do something different. So I have and you know what, change is good.
Now, I haven’t given up on some of my usual spots or party host, y’all know I got love for you. But there are several parties here for Labor Day weekend and some new parties are giving it a try.
This weekends’ holiday marks the unofficial end of summer. The ritual of migrating down to Miami or leaving Miami has started. This week Miss Gabby from Buck 15 celebrates her departure. She holds down the fort at Buck 15 and tonight at Take Out Tuesdays we all party with her.

| Craze, Keen and Gabby at Buck | |
If you don’t know her, that’s cool, just come by for the music. After all, it’s Contra, and Craze running the show. Hip hop classics mixed right, great vibe from the crowd and you can come as you are. No cover, 21+
Listen, some of you love rave type parties, so I expect you will be at BlackOut at Area 51 (formally Metropolis) dancing in every room. Main Room is House and Trance. The list is too long but Noel Sanger is the headliner. Then Side Room is Elektro Mania with Dracula’s Daughter. Over in the Patio is electro, breaks, & DnB and rounding it off in the Allure room is open format. Call Area 51 for more info: 305-358-5655
I have to end it here. There are more parties than what I’ve mentioned. With all the emails, flyers and calls I get, a few jump out at me. But I am going to start setting them up on the CJ listings. Check there for more info and if you have a party you want to add, let me know. Email is at the top.
Have fun, be safe.
New in my MP3 player
Jill Scott – J Spot [It’s Love] - (DnB Remix). An easy sounding DnB beauty returns to my heavy rotation slot.
Weekly Picks
Wednesday – At the Biltmore Hotel, Tara Gilan; the “trend tracker” hosts What’s Hip. This fashionable evening has half priced drinks, complimentary bites (which are really good) and bar menu if you are in the need for more. This is a great way to unwind and have fun with the local Gables crowd. Starts at 6 pm and by 8 pm, everyone is super friendly. Just head back to the pool area where a live DJ spins and the crowds sit and chug. No cover.
Friday – Bliss presents the 10th GrooveJet Reunion celebrating the Bliss Party back when it was over at the memorable club space by 23rd street. The party will be held at Shine Club with DJ’s Dave Seaman, Luis Diaz and Jon Cowan. The Lounge will be open too.
Saturday – ummm, excuse me. Luv & Lodi will be at Karu & Y Ultralounge? Now this is juicy! Don’t know them? Then I suggest you do. This NYC Producing & DJ team had a 3 year run at Sound Factory on Friday nights and now they bring us their Big City sound to Miami. Don’t front if you like house. Karu may not be the biggest house club, but it’s a party.
Sunday – For you Minimal House Heads, this one’s for you. After a night out at Space, a day out at Nikki Beach – go home shower and check out The Square Room at Templo, right there on South Beach. The entrance is in the back alley behind 619 Washington Ave.
