Usually when very popular nightlife venues shut down for renovation, the media knows ahead of time. It may be to include better sound, different décor, or even change the all-around aesthetics of the club. However, what if one restaurant/lounge just happens to close down for renovation without letting any know? Strange, right? Well, that’s exactly what happened this week in Miami.
The Forge, known for their decadent meals and A-list clientele, abruptly closed up shop this week for renovation plans. Owner Shareef Malnik, says that the restaurant will open back up sometime between October and December, after pumping in millions of dollars to give the 40-year-old establishment new furniture, and even a new menu. Although a majority of the employees didn’t find out about the closing until this past Monday, the long-term employees can expect severance packages.
