Top 4th of July Parties in Miami

One of the biggest weekends of the year is just days away and events are scattered around the city. While the 4th of July may only come off as a giant fireworks display to the normal American citizen, for us it means parties, parties and more parties. Whether it’s on a yacht, in a club or at a park, there’s nothing better than the 4th of July weekend, when you know that they night will definitely end with lights in the sky. Here at CoolJunkie we’ve taken the liberty to give you the top 4th of July parties in Miami.

Date: Friday July 3rd
Party: Ecco Beach
Venue: Shine at The Shelborne Beach Resort

A lot of nightlife venues tend to get the peak of their attention during Winter Music Conference, and Shine at the Shelborne Beach Resort was commonly seen as one of these clubs. However, this year not only did they bring in the best lineup of WMC 2009, but they’ve continuously been bringing in big DJ names into their venue week in and week out. This 4th of July they’re continuing the trend as they present Ecco Beach with music by Josh Wink and Behrouz. While Behrouz will draw the crowd that loves its house music, Josh Wink will definitely be bringing all of the techno heads out. Expect this event to be a big seller.

Party: Independance
Venue: Surfcomber Hotel

Year in and year out there’s always one party that gets the best of the Miami locals when it comes to the 4th of July weekend. Coming back for the fifth year in a row is the infamous Independance Pool & Beach Party. This party is literally 12 hours of non-stop EDM no matter what the weather conditions are (unless there’s a hurricane of course). The names on the flyer this year are just as big as the ones in the past. Serving up all the music will be Danny Tenaglia and Victor Calderone, two favorites for the Miami crowd who aren’t strangers when it comes to DJ sets that last hours and hours long. Expect this place to fill up completely, so if you’re planning to go, get on it now!

Venue: LIV Nightclub

One of the biggest nightclubs to ever come out of Miami is hosting one of the biggest DJs to ever come into Miami. This 4th of July if you’re looking to have a swanky night out then look no further than LIV Nightclub located inside of the infamous South Beach Fontainebleau Resort. This mega-club may have you thinking that you’re in Vegas, when in reality you’re much closer to the Atlantic. This weekend they’re bringing in world renown DJ Erick Morillo. While many may have thought that his sets would only be limited to Club Space parties, think again. This time he’s opting for a little change of scenery and crowd as well, but he still makes his way to Space by the end of the night.

Party: Dubfire
Venue: Mansion

There’s always competition in the nightlife business when it comes to big weekends like the 4th of July, and the Opium Group definitely likes to show off what they brought in to the city. This year they’re going all techno as Dubfire returns to Mansion for the second time this year. The headman of Sci+Tec will be bringing his signature sounds to a crowd that will be hungry to dance all night long. Although the turnout wasn’t that great the last time he was here, the set was amazing, and something tells us that the crowd will be much better this time around.

Party: Arcangel en Concierto
Venue: Voyage Ultra Lounge

We all know that the sounds of Miami are pretty much dominated by the DJ, and the DJ often plays either hip hop or house. But it’s always refreshing when a nightclub gets a visit from a performer. That’s exactly what’s happening this 4th of July when an all-out raggaeton party kicks up at one of the best venues that downtown Miami has to offer, Voyage Ultra Lounge. They’re bringing in Arcangel to perform live, which is a rare treat in the city. Although raggaeton may be big in the Latin communities, when it comes to live performances, there really aren’t too many here. This should definitely be a treat for all the fans that have been waiting for a raggaeton performance that is backed by those infectious beats.

Party: Detox
Venue: Exit 66

There’s only one place where you can pretty much find Oscar G. playing in Miami, and that’s Space. However, just when you thought that his sets were limited to that venue, Exit 66 makes a move and decides to have him star in their 4th of July event, Detox. Playing alongside DJ Icey, Miami’s best DJ will have a bit of a change of scenery this holiday weekend and go north for Exit 66’s highly anticipated party. Beach attire is welcome at this place, so be sure that the ladies will look their best, so guys, start doing those crunches now if you haven’t.

Party: Rock Independence
Venue: Finnegan’s on the River

One of the most under-the-radar places in Miami to grab a drink has to be Finnigan’s on the River. This place has what we think is the coolest layout; small inside area with a bar, pool tables and TVs for the games, and a huge outdoor area with a stage, an even bigger bar, tables for dining, TVs for games, and a pool…yes a pool! Whatever the special occasion is you can bet that Finnigan’s on the River always has something going on, and this 4th of July they’re bringing in some of the best bands in Miami for their Rock Independence party (including Suenalo and Jacob Jeffreys).

Party: Independence Day Celebration Boat Party
Venue: Tikki Beach

This wouldn’t be a good 4th of July party list if we didn’t include a boat party, but this isn’t your ordinary yacht. This Saturday the Independence Day Celebration Boat Party will take place on the infamous Tikki Beach party yacht. This looks more like a cross between the Space Terrace and Nikki Beach, with lush cabanas and a tropical vibe as you float across the Atlantic. For three hours of cruising time you get an all-American BBQ buffet, endless music and plenty of drinks. If you want to spend your 4th of July in an alternative way, we recommend this one.

Date: Sunday July 5th
Party: Sundance presents TV Rock
Venue: SET

When it comes to Sunday nights in South Beach, one of the best and most exclusive nightclubs you can find is right on Lincoln Road, SET. Packing a punch when it comes to sound, design and service, SET always pleases the city’s A-list crowd and socialites, but on Sunday nights their infamous Sundance party is only for those true music heads. Constantly bringing in names like Laidback Luke, Dirty South and Steve Angello, they’re event this weekend is just as good as any other as they present TV Rock. Week in and week out this place is always packed, but expect there to be a little something special in the air on this night.

Party: Erick Morillo Afterhours on The Terrace
Venue: Space Terrace

We said it earlier in the article and here it is. Erick Morillo can’t come into Miami without making an appearance at Club Space. He’ll be taking over the afterhours session on the infamous Terrace, and we can pretty much guarantee that this will be one of the wildest parties that you can imagine. We’ve been part of his afterhours set at the Terrace before and it’s always a packed house. All of the Surfcomber crowd will more than likely be coming over to witness this event as well, so either get your tickets now, or show up well before the doors open.
