Fashion Update: Less is More This Spring/Summer

Less is more. This is to be every girl’s fashion motto for Spring/Summer 2009. Turn away from the out played florales and exaggerated color combinations. This season is all about minimalism, being fresh and cleansing the clothing palette.

Designers such as Calvin Klein, Bottega Venata, Stella McCartney and Lanvin are all veterans when it comes to creating great fashion statements without over-the-top designs or colors. There is nothing more visually pleasing then freshly bronzed skin, minimal hair and make up, white silk and nude linens. Think St. Tropez, private yachts or even African safaris.

Neutral color palettes and simple designs carry a subtle sexiness for day and effortless elegance for evening. Many designers have their own interpretation of this trend on their runways, but it has already translated to more affordable, fashion forward retail stores such as Zara, H&M, BCBG, Mango or Neiman Marcus.
