The evolution of the automobile really has been quite a remarkable one. First looking like old metal boxes that move, now we have different shapes, sizes and colors. But what’s going to happen in the future? How will cars look? If you watch movies like Demolition Man or I Robot, you get a sense of where the design is going, and it’s definitely in an aerodynamic direction. Recently designer Ralph Tayler-Webb drew up a concept car that definitely looks like it’s not from out time, but will definitely be in the near future.
Called the Halcyon, this concept car looks like a more modern version of the Batmobile. That’s right, imagine 20 years from now, old women driving around Batmobiles? Sounds pretty damn sweet to us. Apparently the inspiration for this new car came from “the tranquility and silence of a glider flight.” So essentially, what he did was take technology and merge it with nature in order to draw up this concept car. We’re not really sure where the windows end and the engine begins, but isn’t that what we’re suppose to expect out of a concept car? It’s designed to glide through landscapes instead of drive and the motor is made from porous aluminum, making it lightweight and fuel-efficient.
