It’s pretty evident that the GPS navigation system is quite the popular gadget now-a-days. Not only does it help us with the insane amount of stress that we get behind the wheel, especially in Miami where you just can’t seem to make a left turn, but also when you’re trying to find that hole in the wall bar that everyone talks about, but you just can’t find. But now since these gadgets have picked up in popularity, it’s time to give them a tweak here and there and really customize them. This definitely starts off with the voice that guides you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one of the most familiar voices in pop culture guide you through Miami? Although he may not be the brightest man, Tom Tom has made it possible for Homer Simpson to guide you through the streets.
Instead of having Mr. Roboto telling you to make a left onto US1, why not one of the most popular cartoon characters of the last two decades? Some of the things that Homer will say include things like “whoo-hoo, you have reached your destination” and “at the end of the road, turn left, then take the motorway, hee-hee-hee.” Even though his wrap sheet casts him as quite the idiot, you won’t have to worry with this gadget, because adding that characteristic would defeat the whole purpose of it.
Pros:
- Have a laugh while you get directions.
- Looks trendy in the car.
- Voice skin only costs $13 dollars.
Cons:
- May distract stoners.
- Actual TomTom device isn’t cheap.
- Only a matter of time before you’re annoyed by it.
