The Oscar awards themselves are sometimes as overshadowed by the red carpet fashion parade that takes place every year.

This year was a lot more glamourous than last years toned down show a result of the Iraq War.

Nearly all the stars looked a mazing in glamourous long dresses.

Naomi Watts stunning nude-colored Versace dress was set of by her lithe figure and simple make-up and up-do.

She accessoriezed in stule with boyfriend Heath Ledger who held her hand and on occasion rubbed her back to keep her warm.

Best actess winner Charlize Theron wore a nude beaded Gucci gown by Tom Ford, who has just showed his last collection for the label.

She has a light tan and wore her blonde hair natural with a wave.
Waves seemed to be all the rage with several stars alloing curls to creep in. A welcome change from the poker straight looks of previous years.

Rising star Scarlett Johannson missed out on a Oscar nom but arrived to present wearing a green Alberta Ferretti gown.
Her look seems based on Marilyn Monroe with her red lips and swept back blonde hair.

Oscar winner Renee Zellweger wore a white Carolina Herrera dress resembling a wedding gown. Her old Hollywood glamour was accesorized with dimond.

Dimaons it seems or in particular Harry Winston dimands were an actresses best friend at the awards.

Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo wore a red lace gown and Catehrine Zeta-Jones also wore red Versace which offset her dark brunette curls.

Nicole Kidman of course wore Chanel and Sandra Bullock glowed in an ivory silk gown although the bottom of the dress did look a bit much.

Misses this evening included Uma Thurman and Diane Keaton who looked quite bizarre in her bowler hat.
