Parke & Ronen are the New York-based design duo who will be showcasing their 2008 Spring/Summer collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim show in July.
Loved by celebrities Heath Ledger and Andres Balazs and fellow designers, Calvin Klein and Todd Oldham, Parke & Ronen has grown to be a pioneer in the men’s swimwear world and a leader in its industry by reinventing the 60’s style men’s swim short with the creation of their signature snap short.
This season, the collection’s theme is Disco Marrakech.
Designers, Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel found inspiration in the rough hewn, undiscovered Bedouin art of the Berbers and other local nomadic tribal people of Sahara, which is strong and masculine-looking while still being exotic and real.
Parke & Ronen combined this style of art with the idea of Marrakech as a playground for the sexy and glamourous and came up with a Euro-trash disco collection with an oriental flare. The season’s overall color palette is made of desert brights: spicy reds and oranges, sunset pinks and sunrise yellows, on a foundation of organic summer neutrals like khaki, olive and espresso and highlighted by clear, oasis turquoise and aqua. Of course, Parke & Ronen will also be showing their unique prints created using new and different embellishment techniques.
With refined details, quality fabrics and an exquisite fit, the Parke & Ronen collection is the answer to the modern-day man’s quest to dress trendy and chic, yet without falling victim to extreme looks. Parke & Ronen has created a clothing line that is contemporary, clean, fashionable and most importantly, accessible to real people in any age group or market.
You can pick up one of these great pieces at Saks Fifth Avenue in Sunny Isles or at Barney’s Co-Op on South Beach.
