Halloween is such an exciting holiday because you get to be someone you’re not for a day. So why be like everyone else and buy the same old costume they’re wearing? We’re here to make sure that doesn’t happen. This list is here to make sure you don’t wear the same overrated costume as everyone else this year.

Sarah Palin or Barack Obama

It was done so much last year and so loved by everyone that they think they can bring it back better than before. Don’t do it. Whitney Houston may be the only thing that can come back after a year-long absence better than before. These costumes are definitely overrated for Halloween.

Octomom

Putting those wax lips in your mouth and carrying around eight baby dolls is not a Halloween costume, and it's certaily overrated; it’s an adult female reminiscing on her adolescent days of playing dress-up with dolls.

Michael Jackson

Yes, I agree with everyone, it is great that people want to remember him as one of the greatest pop icons that ever lived. However, that will easily be the most popular costume you will see, and to us certainly the most overrated, so be original and if you love music try someone like Bob Marley or Neil Diamond.

Hannah Montana

You can have the best of both worlds without dressing like the teen pop sensation who coined that phrase. I know it’s easy to throw on a blonde wig and some sparkly top but give finding a Halloween costume a little more of your time and thought. Remember, be unique, don't jump into the 'overrated costume' category, you'll never stick out.

Famous Couples

Being one half of a pair on Halloween is always fun but we just ask that you please do not dress up as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from the Twilight series or John and Kate Gosselin from John & Kate Plus 8. You’re bound to look like every other couple out that night.

Young or old, you’re going to see a whole lot of the same costumes out there. So be bold, be different, and don’t be caught wearing one of the most overrated costumes this year.
