Above: Chloé Event at the Bal Harbor Shops
Sorry about this coming out so late, but this one girl has way too much going on. A good thing…
In the clubs, the fashions can range from chonga to chic depending on the party and the area. Events are the same thing. Yesterday I was at the glamorous Chloé Boutique Party at the Bal Harbor Shops. The event was a shopping event for Make-A-Wish-Foundation where 10% of the proceeds went to Wish. As expected, the attendees were crisp and chic, some in vintage Chloé some in just amazing ensembles.
At the event, Cat Power made right as I was leaving and whispers of her arrival had me wait a bit. The hipster songstress had on these fierce white leather fingerless Chanel gloves (you know given to her by Karl) and a very worn home made tee. After I had a brief chat with her, the girl was whisked into the store where the other photogs shot away.

| Elisha Cuthbert at Chloé | |
The one I simply adored was Miss Elisha Cuthbert (Girl Next Door and my favorite 24) was there shopping, trying on pieces and ended up with the gorgeous Embellished Shift Dress. On her way out, she made a stop to thank “It Girl” Gigi Ganatra.
On my stroll, I watched one of the hipster ladies of the night and girlfriend rack up close to 2 grand in shoes and sunglasses. Bags and dresses kept being wrapped up by sales assistants dressed in Chloé. My ears were filled with funk and RnB that DJ Sky Nellor selected and the live models were perfection in the latest Spring-Summer 2007 collections.
The Chloé shop is located at Bal Harbor Shops.
Online shopping is a great thing to do during lunch time. One local boutique joining in the mix of online shopping is Toff where the chic boutique is located at 710 Lincoln Road and now virtually on www.toffmiami.com. The site officially opens on May 30th.
When it comes to T-Shirts, they have to be more than just the print. The cotton has to be soft and light and the print has to be unique. The new Paul Jacober site has a line called the Florida Series which has images of two very different cities in South Florida. The Davie prints have the horses while the palm trees and flamingos represent Miami Beach. The Tees are chic and can be used from day cool to night chic. For more information check the site at www.pauljacober.com.
I have mentioned them before, but a reminder while you are out there doing some online surfing. If you ever find yourself shopping online, go through www.KarmicShopping.com first. Sign up for free, and click and shop at recognizable sites like Home Depot, Amazon, Penguin, and Puma (just to name a few), you will give back to charitable organizations through every purchase you make.
Now it won’t cost you a penny extra, all they want is for you to click through their site and jumping off to where you want to shop and they donate 20% of their revenue to www.globalgiving.com. So why not just remember to click when you are thinking about ordering a book through Amazon or a track at iTunes. Easy, simple, and a great way to give to those who need it.
Happy shopping!
