Dear Fashion Friends.
I am so sorry I let you down last week, but this girl has been tangled up in some serious shopping. I need rehab.
Right now Neiman Marcus has the Designer Sale online with a serious sale that any fashion addict could dream of. My eye spies an Emilo Pucci Printed Scarf now at $195 from $260 and an “I-will-eff-for” La Fiorentina Mink (don’t judge) Hooded Poncho down to $995 from $1,295. But that’s as far as I get at this sale. My eye spies breaks and shocks I need to buy first. Did you know Neiman Marcus turned 100 this year?
Something less extravagant but just as unique is a new site I was turned on to. Last week, a friend sent me a link to Etsy.com and let me tell you, I love it. If you are an independent artist who loves to create and don’t have time to set up a site or want more exposure, this place is your new home. If you love to shop for that little extra something, a special gift that you can not find anywhere else, this is your match made in shopping heaven.
For example, I fell in love with and hope to buy The Slide Chandelier (one left) from a crochet-enthusiast out in Brooklyn. I would have never found this on eBay. But just like eBay, they have a rating, you can pay by Paypal, see who shops and contact the seller.
Also this week is the unveiling of Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker on June 7. She will be making an appearance over in NYC’s Steve and Barry, signing autographs and selling her goods to girls who love to shop. A sailor chino pant or a chic ankle zip crop jeans go for under $15, while wedge heels are under $10 and jewelry under $6.
At the moment there is nothing about buying it online, but this being the sixth borough, some of you will be traveling up to The City and you can get your own SJP. Wana take a sneak peek? Go to bittnesjp.com.
Happy shopping!
This week in fashionable events:
Thursday June 7:
The 3rd Anniversary Bash for Rocco Donna: Hair & Beauty Art. They are celebrating their big three at the Ice Palace Film Studios on Thursday, June 7 with fashion show, music and hair. The event is from 8 pm to midnight and the fashion show by Benetton starts at 9:30. Open Bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres, plus music performance by Marger MG, plus DJ’s Patrick M, Juan Andres and Jerry will be spinning.
Expect dressed up fashionistas from all walks of night life. This event requires you to RSVP by June 6 at events@madavepr.com. Show up early to this one because I have a feeling it will be wall to wall.
How about a store opening instead?
I heart store openings. These events are usually a great place to see and be seen. Guest dress up, usually there are celebrity sightings, magazine photographers snap away and if there are cocktails and bites, they are usually pretty good.
Well, here is your chance to be part of one. Get yourself on the list for the AG Miami Store Opening this Thursday June 7. AG - Adriano Goldschmied Jeans and 944 Magazine host the Grand Opening that starts at 9 pm till 11pm. Then the crew takes the after party to Mynt Lounge and that's from 11pm-4am.
AG is located at 755 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL.

Future events:
The one and only Gen Art Shop Miami will be returning next Friday June 15th to The Moore Building at the Design District. This event sells tickets out and is one of the most important to attend with a shopping extravaganza. Trust me when I tell you this is a REAL shopping event and you will hate to have heard about it the day after. Start looking into getting tickets now at www.genart.com
If you would like to see your event related to fashion (art, shows, clubs) please email me by clicking here so I can add it to the line up.
