Get it straight at the Van Michael Miami Salon. They are now offering the Brazilian Keratin Treatment, a new process that softens, shines and straightens hair using keratin protein rather than harsh chemicals.

The Brazilian keratin is applied to shampooed hair then blow dried and flat ironed. The keratin remains in the hair until shampooed four days later. The process takes about two hours. This revolutionary treatment starts at only $250 and to maintain results requires a 3-4 month follow-up treatment.

At Rucht D`Oleo Designs they are doing good while giving you their best in fashion. During August 6th through August 13th when you drop off school supplies you will receive a $50 gift certificate to redeem at the boutique.

The collections are for the Community Vicentina San Pedro Apostol from the Dominican Republic. They are asking for: backpacks, pens and pencils, calculators, lunch kits, crayons, markers, color pencils, coloring books, ruler sets, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and school shoes for girls and boys for ages 4 and 10. If you are interested in helping, give them a call.

Even though its next week, mark your calendars for this months’ Jam at MAM. With a Spring/Summer Runway Show by Carmelita Couture, it is a fashion event by all means.

This month there is the usual museum walk, the happy hour mixer on the courtyard, live music and as I said, a fashion show. The event is always the third Thursday of every month with a donation bar, bites and artistic people. MAM members are free, but if you are not, you pay $10 and that is nothing for THE best happy hour in town.
