The artsy people moved in, then the preservationists. Kinda reversed.
Then the developers came and gentrified and "normalized" the area. Grant it, there's still a few original people left, but when every day, there's more and more WASPs and less of a diversity of people, there's a problem.
I don't mind the preservation, as a matter of fact, I wish they were a little more strict about it. While buildings like the Setai and so forth are nice, they don't fit. Or they will when the last historic Art Deco building meets the wrecking ball and we're left with concrete and glass stylings no different than New York.
Coach, don't get me started. ;D
