I have products from both...
I am really turned off by Sony because of the way they do not brief employees or sales distributors about their products. If you buy a Sony camera...they make it almost impossible to buy accessories (memory,extra batteries, lenses, etc) for the product.
I remember buying my wife a pretty pricey Sony digital camera and she went to the Sony store to ask how to extract a video from the camera onto a Mac since it was not very clear in the instructions...
The clerk tells her..."you need to go to the Mac Store, it's a Mac thing" when she told me that over the phone I wanted to fly from NYC where I was at the time and walk into the store to return the piece of shit camera....
Canon will be our next camera purchase.
