Default Bush Poll Numbers Still In Dumps

WASHINGTON -- Americans are apparently feeling more confident about the economy, but they're not giving President George W. Bush much of the credit.

An A.P.-Ipsos poll released Friday said 39 percent of Americans approve of Bush's handling of the economy, even as another survey puts consumer confidence at its highest level in 16 months.

The A.P. poll has Bush's overall job approval stuck near its lowest level, at 40 percent.

The poll does show the public has grown more accepting of the administration's policy on domestic eavesdropping. Almost half of those polled now support it -- up from 42 percent last month.

The results are based on a survey of 1,000 adults.

Bush can't run for office again, so do these numbers really matter?

Course they do. The numbers will matter a lot more once time has give the world perspective, but the hard facts won't change, and will be used to evaluate his overall performance, and thus his legacy.

But your point is taken. The numbers are just there so liberals can say I told you so.

In a nutshell, that's it. You nailed it!

Bush can't run again. If the Demz had an alternative, they would have said so. They obviously don't which explains the constant complaining one would expect from an ex-wife dramaqueen.

Again, they'll have to do more than tell America not to vote for the guy/girl w/ an R next to their name. They have to actually stand for something, rather than stand against everything if they hope to have a chance to win future elections.

Demz crowed about poll #'s in 2000 after their self proclaimed 8 yr. bliss of Clinton.
Demz crowed about poll #'s in the 2002 mid term elections only to be left w/ egg on their face, AGAIN.
In 2004, Demz again marinated in poll #'s only to inspire more people to vote R than had ever voted in history, which also gave Bush over 50% of the popular vote (something Bill Clinton NEVER accomplished...ps..I just slipped that in to provide "PERSPECTIVE").

Poll #'s, schlumbers, blah, blah, blah. It's time Demz start looking w/in if they ever hope to become a relevant party again.
Until then, this picture will continue to define them:
