Intelligence Community: Fear of U.S. attack motive in Iran pursuing nukes

Funny that our invasion of Iraq could lead to Iran having nuclear weapons. We live in a yin and yang type of world... cause and effect. We cannot dominate an entire civilization... especially one that China increasingly needs for oil resources too. After the Middle East are we going to take over Nigeria and all mineral rich nations... Venezuela, etc.? China won't allow complete domination and we sure as hell can't fight them conventionally or even unconventionally... so there goes the limitations of our power.

That's true. I stated the same case in another thread for the motivation of North Korea to pursue it's nuclear program. We can't go around throwing out all these threats to other nations anymore thinking that we are just going to get a passive response from these so called rouge nations.

What would we do if another nation were to threaten us with a military invasion? Sit around, do nothing and lay down? Or prepare our nation for it? Can you blame these nations for taking such as stance? Not that I support them or anything, but I can understand their fear and unrest epsecially with the track record of our current administration.

Obviously achieving nuclear technology is not as far reached as a mystery as it once was to these rouge nations 20 or 30 years ago. Especially with the speed and ability of the world to gather and exchange information the way we do today.

Everybody wants nukes! Everybody wants respect. Everybody wants to feel protected! What makes you think they trust us? They don't! And they feel that nuclear proliferation is the answer to their fears.

You're right JMT, they can't be trusted! But in their eyes, we can't be trusted either. If you remember we are the only nation on this planet ever to use a nuclear device on another nation, not once but twice!
