(for those that dont know, this place is at the bottom of the world in freezing cold water, white sharks everywhere, and waves that are boarderline suicidal) http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=91155

| I went surfing in NE AUS recently and never saw one shark...I was paranoid about it the whole time. But...I wasn't that far out, as it's been many years since I last surfed....man do I suck at it now! LOL

| ---When Dean Morrison surfed there a few years back, he said it was one of the heaviest waves he'd ever rode. Thing is...it's only accessible by power raft, no jet-ski rescue available, super cold water, shallow rock reef, & yes sharks. The wave itself, has this ledge that forms on the face, from a dip in the reef, just as you're setting up for the tube. If you don't make it...you're toast!!
