John Kerry is predicting that NYC and Boston will be wiped off the map within the next 30 years. This is good news for the Florida real estate market. 9 million people will now need a place to live.... Failed presidential candidate John Kerry offered a startling prediction Friday morning: If the U.S. doesn't change its global warming ways, New York City and Boston will be destroyed due to flooding by 2036. "I can say to an absolute certainty," Kerry told radio host Don Imus, "that if things stay exactly as they are today absent some unpredictable change in what's going on, within the next 30 years the Arctic ice sheet is gone. "Not maybe, not if - the Arctic ice sheet is gone," the Massachusetts Democrat insisted, before offering his hair-raising prediction. "Already you have the Greenland ice sheet beginning to melt ... If that melts, you have a level of sea level increase that wipes out Boston Harbor, New York Harbor - I mean, it's just stunning what we're looking at." Kerry blamed the Bush administration's environmental policies for the coming destruction of New York and Boston. "Europe and the other countries are responding," he told Imus. "The United States remains oblivious - at least the administration remains oblivious."

| CoolJunkie | that does seem a little close but i really wouldn't be surprised if it happened A LOT sooner than expected. i saw this story not too long ago about how glaciers al over the world are melting faster than anyone predicted. it was something crazy in the french alps like a few kilometers a year. at that rate it won't be but a few years (relatively speaking) before they completely melt away. if this happens though, south florida will be in trouble too, not just up north.

| FreshJunkie | according to the mayan calender, around 2010 there will be a massive earthquake in California that will create a tsunami that will hit the coasts of the western coast of the US and it will put most of the coast under water. Some climatologists that were on the show Cristina a few months ago, had a very similar prediction. They were discussing the boom in florida real estate and the way alot of the new buildings are being built and how most are not able to withstand extreme weather because of the way they were built or because of their locations. Anyways, they were predicting that a massive tsunami will hit the west coast and because it will be so strong, the waves will spread to the east coast, putting most of the florida coast under water too. Unfortunately, the govt doesn't take any of this into account. Everyday there are more warning signs concerning the environment and they seem to think that war in Iraq is more important : ![]() |
