![]() [/quote]The price of gas affects not only how much it costs to drive your car. It also affects the price of goods and services that have transportation costs. From stamps, to food prices, the cost of electricity, you name it. The cost of oil dictates the cost of many things in a small way that you might not immediately notice but they all add up.

| And funny how when he speaks he seems to only speak to a certain group of people who only support him. When was the last time he did a speech in front of random people with opposing views besides some people in the media...It's as if the crowds he speaks to are taylored to his agenda.

| MegaJunkie | u mean congress? Bush's Pr guys avoid that like the plague.. its just that everytime i see our President since 9/11 its we are winning the war.. were almost there. and all i see is more dead Americans soldiers. more parents burying their kids. this country domestically is a mess. we need to focus on alternate sources for fuel (like he said in his State of the Union) if its goin up and down like crazy now wait till the summer when it goes up again ....

| There is nothing we can do, I dont like it either but whats the point of bitching about it, he has already showed us that he is by far the worst president in the history of the united states, if we are still alive when his term is up, then I guess we got lucky or maybe should he get booted now before he does more damage

| Interesting. When the price of gas dropped $0.80, I don't remember anyone giving CREDIT to President Bush. But when the price goes UP $0.14, he immediately gets the blame. Look what they did between September and November and you tell me which was more newsworthy, a $0.14 increase or a $0.80 decrease? I'm sorry, but $0.14 is just a standard market fluctuation... Perhaps you guys should be blaming the enviro-wackos in Congress for trying to push ethanol down our throats. On the Today Show this morning they said, due to a new law taking effect requiring the introduction of ethanol into the gasoline mix, "ethanol could push pump prices above $3 in the coming months." ![]()

| MegaJunkie | oil and gas are traded commoditites, their prices are set by the market, prez bush has no influcence over the price. In the 80's so many people went bankrupt when oil was 10 bucks a barrel, who was crying to save the oil companies back then??? |

There's nothing 'wacko' about trying to find an alternative to oil. What's 'wacko' is keeping the status quo and letting a bunch of Arabs and other oil cartels around the world where get our fuel from dictate the price of it!

| No, there's nothing wacko about trying to find fuel alternatives. But instead of "a comment to Bush", this should've said "a comment to Ethanol supporters" because they're the ones driving the prices up....Bush has NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING to do with gas prices unless he's tapping into the strategic reserves, in which case, they would decline. Now, if prices going up on account of using ethanol is ok with you, then fine....but don't make it out to be something Bush caused.
