Default mixmag UK

ive heard rumors that mixmag arnt doing to good.to say its the worlds leading dance music mag (300,000 coppies) if it is true is it a sign that the dance scene is taking a different turn?
im sure the way dance music is being played now days has changed some things,e.g djs used to buy vinyl at $5 - $10 a pop-big money for someone to make, now its all cd/mp3 at a much lower cost and in some cases no cost (file sharing).
Paul Van Dyk,Eric Morillo,B.K used to write for mixmag every month but not anymore, looks like they are cutting back.if you try to subscribe to mixmag it tells you 'not available'.
if anyone can shed any light on this please let me know.thanks
G

It could mean many things. Probably the fact that more people are online today than 5 years ago could be the cause of lower magazine sales. Why go buy Mixmag for $8.99 or what ever it costs if you can pretty much go online and read the same articles for free...

Antoher thing that could be happening is that everytime you pick up one of those magazines, you are reading the same thing over and over again. The advertising is the same as last months sponsers. The pictures all look the same. The DJs they do profiles on are all the same.

As far as I can tell, Mixmag hardly features U.S DJs in their publication and the US is one of the largest markets of EDM in the world.

It could also mean that EDM is dying. Europe has been the trend setter in EDM not the U.S. And they are at least a year or 2 ahead of us in a lot of aspects of EDM. Perhaps they know something that we don't yet...

I can't imagine people stop listening good music and can’t imagine good music stop making people want to go out, get down and shake a leg.

They sell around 70,000 I believe. Certainly nowhere near 300,000. Sales have dropped as interest in dance music has dropped, not aided by the fact that Mixmag is shite. If I ran out of toilet paper I'd still struggle to find a good use for Mixmag.

Maybe it is 70,000-odd in the UK then and the rest abroad?

Either way, I stand by my comments about it being shite.
