There has been a huge blow ups on the mustang boards all over the net about this, I think the reports are wrong but right. See newsweek and autoweek both said they would use the mustang name however I and the rest of the world disagrees, there is no way they will use the same name, however they will use the same chassis and setup since it's a a solid one and will cost them less to develop new cars with platform sharing, however the stang has a live rear axle so I don't understand why they want a wagon to be based on a live rear, I know it saves a ton of money but modern cars should have IRS unless it's a stang or camaro imo.

Mustangs are known to have light rear ends and they like to slide everywhere.... i dont think that is a very good idea for a wagon
