Meet My New Cat!!!

His name is Gus.

We adopted him today from the Pet Smart in Hollywood.

We've been checking him out now for over a month now and I finally decided it was time to get him. He's a year old and no one was taking him so we took him finally.

He's a very sweet cat it seems. He's really calm and so far good with my kid and the dog.

The group that adopts cats out from Petsmart rescued him along with 68 other cats from a house in Ft Lauderdale that was being occupied by a mentally ill man who lived in filth and whorded cats. He thought he only had 12 cats so he only got enough food for 12 cats when he went shopping. Most of the cats were malnurished becasue the bigger cats took all the food.

Gus is a really big, solid cat. He weighs 16 pounds and is only going to get bigger. That's good becasue I want a big cat.

The house that he came from recently got condemed and the cats have been at this particular Petsmart for a few months now. Most of them are young kittens.

If you want a cat, the adoption fee is $65.

You have to fill out an application and they come out to your house to see how that cat responds to your environment. If the cat seems OK then and only then will they approve the adoption.

Seriously, though, it's much more difficult to find good homes for adult cats, so I'm glad you adopted Gus. Congratulations, Terry - he's a pretty kitty!

terry, i hope this cat gets more MPG and is more eco-friendly then your last cat, otherwise slammin shuan might call you out.

If you have a male calico Slammin Shaun will pay good money for him. (calico's are the patchy ones right?)

My little girl grabbed his paw on accident and he didn't swat at her like some other cats would.

Gus sounds like a sweetheart. We've got a couple of felines that are so vicious, we should probably post BEWARE OF CAT signs around the house.

That's what I heard also that cats of this nature will not return home if they are let outside.
