Register or logon for a better view. hi guys i trashed my old camera ... so i'm in the market for a new digi cam i've read 100 reviews of cameras but, its no he same as getting a recommendation from a friend I'm specifically looking for a cam that will take good videos at night and in low lighting or a dark setting most cameras suck at that and capturing audio clearly under 300$ bones would be nice and with an easy menu some of these digital cameras are so wierd when it comes to how the menu operates... like a maze lol if you own a camera like this and have videos on you tube send me a link so i can see thanks guys!

| CoolJunkie | "Low light" and "under $300" do not go together. Check http://www.steves-digicams.com/ for some good info. I always recommend Sony. I think on the low end, they have better sensors and whatnot. They have just released some new ones, too, so you can probably find something that you want.

| actually the fuji f31 series is famous for (comparatively) excellent low-light performance & color rendition. this would be my choice if i was in the market today. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilmf31fd/ |

| CoolJunkie | theres too many to choose from i figure alot of my vidz will be in the evening and in very low light ... for the most part digital cams suck at taking vidz in dark i would need some sort of lighting :s

| Non Sufficit Orbis | That's subjective. Objectively the A640 (which uses the same sensor as the SD1000 I recommended) has a bit more per-pixel resolution. The Fuji looks sharper at first glance, but it looks to be the result of in-camera processing rather than true resolution. If that sharpened look is your bag, then go for it. Beware though, the sharpening also enhances noise. Typically, Canon comes out slightly soft by default and lets you dick around with the sharpness on your own. Which is very useful for printing. On mine, I leave them a bit soft by default and sharpen later according to need.
