hit with six felonies for failing to file between 1999-2004, contends that the half-dozen counts were "impermissibly brought on the basis of Mr. Snipes' race" and should be "dismissed based on selective prosecution.

Some people are so quick to judge....

Individuals in those 'brackets' do not sit at the kitchen table with a pencil and eraser or the lates version of Quickens Tax for Dummies. They sign over a power of attorney to a team of financial advisors.

This team dictates to the rest of the associates that he uses...people who buy his clothes, cars, travel, accomodation, invest his money etc. right down to his toothbrush.

He is an actor...not any of the above, so because he can afford it, he has with the help of referrals hired people to take care of the things that need to get done. He has no choice but to trust these people and hope that they do the right thing. They might have made him think that he had filed taxes for the last 6 years...but in reality he didn't because they pocketed the money.

Which estate do you go after the common white collar crook? Or the high profile actor.

Please stop getting sucked in by the media spins and embarrassing yourselves with un-educated comments...it gets tiring.

Let's see if we can change a few words around with your quote....

Corporations like Enron do not sit at the kitchen table with a pencil and eraser or the lates version of Quickens Tax for Dummies. They sign over a power of attorney to a team of financial advisors like Arthur Anderson.

This team dictates to the rest of the associates that they use...people who buy their clothes, cars, travel, accomodation, invest their money etc. right down to their toothbrush.

Enron was a corporation...not any of the above, so because they can afford it, they have with the help of referrals hired people to take care of the things that need to get done. They have no choice but to trust these people and hope that they do the right thing. They might have made them think that they had filed honest taxes for the last 6 years...but in reality they didn't because Arthur Anderson pocketed the money.

Which estate do you go after the common white collar crook? Or the high profile corporation?

Haha, that was great, Shaun. But Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling and the Enron board did know what was going on.

Man, you guys are quick...that was my whole point! Wesley Snipes cannot claim ignorance anymore than Enron can. After 6 years of screw ups, I have to question why he's keeping his "team" if not to defraud the government. Claiming its a racial thing just makes him a bigger loser.

^^ you do make an interesting point about the 6 years...but sometimes with the way these guys run....it takes a little longer to pick up on some stuff.

Maybe he should hire a team to watch his other "team" ;D

Diaz's Fashion Faux-Pas Offends Country

Movie star Cameron Diaz has been left red-faced during her visit to Peru - her bag carried a offensive slogan to the country. The In Her Shoes actress was visiting the Inca city of Machu Picchu on Friday carrying an olive green bag with a red star and the words "Serve the People" written in Chinese. In Peru the saying is a reminder of the Maoist Shining Path insurgency which brought the country to chaos in the late 1980's and early 1990's, with almost 70,000 people dying during the massacres and bombings. Pablo Rojas, a prominent human rights activist in Peru says, "It alludes to a concept that did so much damage to Peru, that brought about so many victims. I don't think she should have used that bag where the followers of that ideology did so much damage."
