Prison Minister Offers to Serve Paris Hilton's Remaining Jail Sentence

Marty Angelo asks sentencing judge to release Paris Hilton. Offers to serve her time in exchange for her proper physical, spiritual, and mental treatment.

Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) June 11, 2007 -- Prison Minister, Marty Angelo announced on Saturday in a letter faxed to Paris Hilton's sentencing judge, the Honorable Michael Sauer that he is willing to serve Hilton's remaining jail sentence.

Angelo stated in his letter to Judge Sauer that he is volunteering to switch places with Paris Hilton if the judge would release her to an alternative treatment program. Angelo informed the judge what Hilton really needs is special medical, spiritual, and psychological therapy and keeping her in confinement at the Los Angeles County jail cannot address her unique needs.

"I am sure there are people out there today who will not be satisfied even if she is found hanging by a bed sheet in her jail cell," Angelo remarks. "This is not the time to be looking for blood through a long drawn out process but to find a way to help Hilton."

Angelo believes that one day in jail is enough for some people to come to repentance. He feels when the sheriff's department first slammed Hilton's jail cell door her whole life flashed in front of her. She saw exactly what got her into her situation and knew deep in her heart she would never allow it to happen again.

"That is the blessing of incarceration," Angelo stated. "I learned it first hand through my own time in prison and can empathize with Hilton's current situation." Angelo served two and a half years in a federal prison back in 1981 for two counts of cocaine possession while working in the entertainment business. He became a Christian through his legal troubles and has been a minister for the last 26 years.

Angelo will serve Hilton's remaining jail time if the court allows it. He is sure Hilton has already come clean with herself and would seek the necessary treatment so she never returns to her old ways. "Isn't that what life is all about?" Angelo continues, "We learn through our circumstances and consequences." He is trying to help Hilton by asking the judge to let him serve her remaining jail time and put her in a place where she can really get a handle on her future life without having to continue to live the party scene of drinking, drugs, and drama.

LOL. I remember seeing an interview with Paris one time, where she said something along the lines of "I just tell people what they want to hear"

Here's the interesting part. I know this guy. He used to have a radio show quite a few years ago and is a huge fan of my boss, Henry Stone. He helped Henry get his website up and running and did all the original design and some of the content. He was a music reporter/writer during that period, but a couple years ago went into the ministry full time, at which point I took over the website. He's a really nice guy and still stays in touch. I just thought it was an interesting perspective on the situation.

Al Sharpton has a good point. Nobody cares about any of the other women in that jail. Especially the black ones.
