Default Who Said It...Ahmadinejad or a Democrat?

Alright, time to play a game. Try to figure out if the quote belongs to a Democrat or Ahmadinejad. Let's begin....

Quote #1: By creating nonexistent enemies, for example, and an insecure atmosphere, they try to control all in the name of combating insecurity and terrorism.

Quote #2: Is trying to scare the American people into believing that Al-Qaeda is the rationale for continuing the war in Iraq.

Which one is the Democrat? If you said quote 2, you're right! It was John Kerry in fact, summarizing Iran's position. Let's try again....

Quote #1: They do not respect the privacy of their own people. They tap telephone calls and try to control their people.

Quote #2: The president is violating the law by authorizing illegal domestic wiretapping.

Hmm....that's a tough one, they're saying the same thing! But if you guessed #2 is the Democrat, you're right. Russ Feingold to be exact. Ok, one more to go....

Quote #1: Palestine is an old wound, as old as 60 years. For 60 years these people are displaced. For 60 years these people are being killed. For 60 years on a daily basis there are conflict and terror. For 60 years, innocent women and children are destroyed and killed by helicopters and airplanes that break the house over their heads!

Quote #2: In Palestinian territory, there's horrible persecution of the Palestinians who live on their own land, and they have occupied the land. They have confiscated. They've colonized it, and they've forced Palestinians away from their homes, away from their pastures, away from their fields, cut down their olive trees and severely persecuted the Palestinians.

Man....this one is REALLY tough. I can't tell the difference! But #2 is none other than Jimmy Carter, sounding awfully similar to #1 who is Ahmadinejad. If things don't work out for Ahmadinejad in Iran, at least he knows he has a spot saved for him at the DNC.

Damn! Give it a rest mate! We all know that you're not on the side of the Dems. We each have our own political views. I'm all for intelligent discussions but bashing gets old after a while.

I think Lex (of the Lex & Terry Show) said it best yesterday. "I tend to be liberal & conservative at times. I'm all for the environment but I'd also like to drop some nukes on some people."

Well I'm all for YOU fighting in Iran Shaun. This seems like the drum beat for war. The demonizing process... for example calling ahmanijedad a dictator. The last time I checked he was freely elected and he's up for another election in less than 2 years. O yes he is easy to criticize... but so is the apartheid government of Israel.

"Mahmoud Ahmadinejad[1] (born October 28, 1956)[2] is the sixth and current President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He became president on 6 August 2005 after winning the 2005 presidential election by popular vote. Before becoming president, he was the Mayor of Tehran. He is the highest directly elected official in the country, but, according to Article 113 of Constitution of Iran, he has less total power than the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Iran and has the final word in all aspects of foreign and domestic policies." --- Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Top of da' mornin' 2 ya' TP....

Funny 2 c u defending poor old Mahmoud by proudly posting his election victory......Just curious but....Bush was elected twice and that never stopped you from demonzing him. What gives? Castro also won in a "landslide"..lol As did Saddamn,,,He got 99% of the vote. LMMFAO!!!! How 'bout Kim Jong-Ill? What did he get 100%?

I understand you being against confrontation w/ the Iran, but the whole "freely elected" argument is weak at best. Being Jamican, you must be proud to know there are no fags in Iran either....LOL

The difference between demonizing Bush and demonizing Ahmadinejad is that no one is talking about dropping bombs on the White House. We all know that a likely armed conflict with Iran is real. Ahmadinejad has less power than the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameinei. I can in no way see him as a dictator. He's only been in power for 2 years and he has another election coming up in less than 2 years.

Hey guys, relax. This isn't an "I hate Democrats" thread. It's more along the lines of "why do Democrats find evil dictators so fascinating" thread? I'm trying to understand, so ponder this....

I had lunch with some ultra-liberal colleagues yesterday. They were saying things like, "ya know, I saw that interview with Iran's president on TV, and he's got some really good points..." Even our very own Terry Jasinto said in a thread a few weeks back, "you know, Osama Bin Laden's got some very valid points". Columbia's faculty and students have come out about how embarrassed they are for the way Ahmadinejad was treated, all while campuses across the nation run headlines in the student papers that say "Fuck Bush". We've got people like Mike Wallace saying how impressed he is with Ahmadinejad, while bashing our president. We've got Google cooperating with the Chinese to censor the Internet, while bashing our president. We've got presidential candidates who say they want to sit down and chat with Chavez and Castro.

My point is this: Is your hate of Bush so deep, that you're willing to support the ideas of evil dictators? Is it basically a situation where, "any enemy of Bush, is a friend of mine"? Or is this just an uber-trendy thing to do? My concern is that people are beginning to warm up to people like Ahmadinejad, Osama Bin Laden, and Hugo Chavez, simply because these guys don't like Bush either. LOL... I just posted that Ahmadinejad was elected 2 years ago and is up for election in less than 2 years. I don't see how he's an evil dictator.
