Direct TV turned on the 1st 30 of 60 HD channels today. 30 more coming in oct then another 40 coming in dec for a total of 100. Yes, your cable company sucks cock. Dump them!

I'm going to check my dtv when I get home. I pay an extra $10 a month to get all HD channels. I guess not including the HBO, Sho or STRZ since I dont get any of those normally

Remember these are the new HD ones, we already had our locals in HD plus about 5 other channels. So we are really up to 40ish at this point. I get all those except the pay ones, such as Stars and Showtime. I dumped my HBO last month, I think netflix is a much better option plus they now have HD discs.

I pay 65 a month, comes to like 72, that includes my two HD DVRs and 1 standard box. I do pay more but thats because I have NFLST with Super Fan that runs me about 400 a year. But if you wanted my package it would run you 72 bucks a month.

You can pick up your locals with an ATSC antenna.

Best channels they added are probably HDNet/HDNet Movies and the Discovery's

i pay $99/mo. (plus tax and all the other fees) for EVERYTHING (MINIUS THE GAME PLANS)
i HAVE 4 SETS/RECIEVERS, 3 are w/ TIVO. i HAD 3, but after buying my 50" hd tv, i called to upgrade one of my recievers to hd. they then offered me that "special",,,,waived the fee for tivo service because I had 4(or more recievers). Cause it came out cheaper to go w/ that plan, than to add the hd service fee. the plan included all that good stuff. regardless, I'm very happy w/ my direct tv service. SERIOUSLY!

I've had direct tv for 6 yrs now.

I basically get all the movie channels, extended sport channels(fuel, etc...channels in the 600's)

I also get a direct tv slut to lick my sphinkter & my nuts....(okay,,I lied about that one)

In 80% of the US, you don't need the OTA with Direct tv, you get what they call spot beams which is our locals in HD.
