Question Is this really being jaded?

so right now i'm in the middle of moving out of my current house, taking full time classes, and also working my butt off so i can afford a higher down payment on something nice.

about 2 weeks ago i was in tates, which is a a vinyl toy/art store, and my friend pulled a flyer off the counter and said "Hey look your name is on it! Are you spinning?" of coarse it was something i never was informed about. Not to mention it's being thrown by a promoter i really am not in good terms with at the moment.

So then again last night i'm going through some bulletins and i find my name listed on a timeslot for Feb 2nd. Which is what like 2 weeks from today? And not one person bothered to tell me about it..

This is been happening to me A LOT lately.

I sent a message to the promoter telling him that no one has informed me about any of these bookings, and because of that in order for me to play them i want at LEAST $50 up front because in order to play i would have to take off work (i'm a server at fridays) on my busiest night which would mean i would actually be LOSING money to be playing a party that i really don't even want to play.

He messaged me back with this..

"Well this is how it is set up so you know.. Kramer is in charge of that room and he booked all of the Hto dj's to play, he is being paid a flat rate for that room, and i would hope that he would pay his dj's. I am not at liberty to discuss how much he is being paid but I can tell you that it is enough to give each dj at least $50.. but they may want to keep a lil more for themselves being that they are setting up the room, but i know your friends with kramer so if you want to find out exactly how much you would be making i would give him a call ; ) "

Even though i'm an "HTO" dj.. i'm thinking about not showing up for this or the other on on feb 2nd.

what do you guys think?

EP stuff is best kept on the EP board. I think, even though its been an interesting read everyone here is EP'd out.
