Just want to say I really congratulate the bush administration and the rest of the international community so far in there handling of the Haitian situation in the past couple of days.

I'm really glad that it's the bush administration that is governing the united states right now. They have really stepped up to the plate with the rest of the int. community by getting involved and asking Aristide to leave during the past week. Thank god that evil dictator finally left and now a new chapter in the history of haiti has started.

The situation today outside of the capital was celebrations. Inside the capital, people started taking advantage of the situation and started looting and creating a sense of anarchy, but as the day continued things started to get under control and celebrations spread throughout the streets. Barricades were lifted, fireworks shot in the air, and just a sense of relief on everybody. Because Aristide still did have armed thugs though left in the country people are still a bit worried about the situation, but many of those people were not ever really loyal to aristide but just being paid so the threat is not as serious as you might believe from the media. Needless to say, the United States did a great job by sending marines also today to just make sure the situation works out smoothly.

I look forward to seeing true democracy in my home country and for the country's living conditions to improve in the future.

Once again, its not often I see people actually thank america and instead I see people criticize them 2 much so I felt I had to share this great move the United States did today. Thank you America and the rest of the int. community.

Please in the Haiti situation bush has acted honorably and a lot of people are looking at him as a hero right now with powell. If the democrats even try to make aristide look like a victim in all this and make bush look bad then well seems like they got a thing or common with chavez and castro, aristide's biggest friends in latin america so thats when I'd start freaking out tj, lol. IT's funny to watch the leaders of the black caucus try and make this look like a race issue and make bush look like a racist. Last night I heard maxine waters speaking, sounded clueless about the whole situation.

About the refugees being turned back well I think if they were brave enough to make that trip then they should be able to stay, but its sad to see them coming here anyways. Yesterday was a beautiful day in the history of Haiti and right now I can understand why many of those aristide supporters would feel their life is threatened cause they know how they acted in the past and are scared of that happening to them. Luckily though the way every other haitian I know in the country is thinking right now is "l'union fait la force" meaning unity makes the power. These guys really have nothing to worry about living in haiti as they just as much haitians as anybody, those you see getting hurt on tv or so are just looters, whether they are aristide supporters or against him makes no difference.

Once again thank you to america and the republican group for the way they have handled the situation.

What exactly would motivate you to say that directly to somebody who you know is a Haitian? That comment surprised even me.

Tj, thats the beauty of America and democracy. Anybody can share their opinions as unpopular as they may be. I'm not personally offended by his comments, but I might have been so I can understand why you would say something like that.

What do you think about the way the Haiti situation is playing out tj? Feel like the fact I'm haitian and you might feel akward not offending me, is holding you back but don't let it. You actually somebody that can present valid arguments and questions and hopefully I can answer some of them for you.

All I know is myself, I'm very proud of the Bush Administration for the way they handled this situation. Aristide is prooving to the world how crazy he is with his new accusations and maybe now more people can see what the Haitian people had to deal with for so long.

its due to the Cuban government being so******t dictatorship. The US has a policy of allowing asylum due to goverment, but not due to economic hardship. The Cubans must actually step foot on US soil or they are returned to Cuba.

Funny How GWB's father took out the party that Arestide represented when he came in power....then Clinton came to office and supported the coup to reinstate Arestide and the past party....now good old boy Bush & the CIA & the french finance the rebels to start a coup to oust Arestide again.

I had a long drive home from the airport yesterday with a very passionate Hatian guy. According to him and the rest of the world community.....as scene on ITN and bbc....US marines forced and basically kidnapped Arestide and put him in exile. Yes I know his government was corrupt....but no more than ours.

Arestide was dealing with terrorist and we supported the terroist.....what a great idea!!

When will people wake up in this country and realize that our own elected government is respondsible for more that half the miss - doings in the world right now. And do we hear about the mess in Iraq, how the economy is tanking, how job rates are at an all time low........no all we here about is janets tit and ban'n gay marriage. WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON HERE!!

Sorry I needed to vent :-X
