did anyone watch "Nip/Tuck"?

old news, but did anyone else watch the first season of Nip/Tuck on FX about the plastic surgeons living in Miami???

i watched almost every episode. i thought it was slick, funny and well-written. it had pretty good ratings and buzz so it should be back for a season 2 after "The Shield" ends its season.

it is very much a satyre but i couldnt watch a whole episode without wanting to *gag*, very overdone and made it seem like all Miami women are a bunch of plastic surgeon -bound group of dumbwits.....

I live on South Beach and the whole thing seems pretty accurate to me. My favorite episode was the mansion sex party.

The cool thing about Nip/Tuck is that they are intentionally over the top for comedy value at some points. You can usually tell and it usually comes off as funny instead of stupid. A lot of the things that go on in that show that seem just totally stupid are based on reality. Like the cartel that smuggles drugs in women's enormous breast implants. It seems like a stupid hype storyline but that has actually happened for real.

either way, whether real or not, as a woman i dont like the typecasting, the satyre part was ok but in terms of it being a great show, i think NOT

Norah, which typecasting bothers you? Some of the female characters on Nip/Tuck seem like very strong, respectable, independent women to me. Part of why I like the show. Strong women are sexy.

There are some bimbos too, but one of the main characters is a male bimbo.

the entire plot of the show seems useless, i am not into it ...i wonder if the show talked about metrosexual men and bodybuilder types in Miami....would you like it? i think they keep going off about the same old type of Miami thing

at least CSI is a cop show that has an intelligent plot

"Nip/Tuck showed up on the FX network during the summer of 2003, and became an instant ratings hit. The second season of Nip/Tuck (which has been given a 16-episode order by FX) is expected to begin production early 2004, and new episodes will begin June 22nd. Repeats of season one episodes will return to FX soon."

csi is also a good show. personally, i think nip/tuck is entertaining, which is how i like to spend a small portion of my television viewing time, entertained. *if you dont like the show? *thats fine. *everyone has a choice, which is made by pressing the channel up or down buttons.
