Looking to get a laptop soon any recommendations on which one to get. Right now I've been looking around for a bit and the ones that impress me the most are the alienware, the mac powerbook, and the toshiba which my experience with them have shown that they are amazing labtops for their price. Please no dell recommendations, I can't stand their laptops.

OK then.

I'd recommend these...they rock.

Panasonic Toughbook T2

Toughbook 48

Or any of the Thinkpad T series notebooks...

All of these are around 2 grand...

Pod thanks for the recommendations they look pretty good, but based on the specs I have seen compared to these two it's not as good though reputation on the toughbook is really good.

The alienware

I'm amazed by what toshiba offers for their price, looking at the one all the way to the right on this link.

I recommended the toughbook mainly because I know you do a lot of travelling...all the speed in the world isn't going to help if the thing can't take a beating. ;D

Thanks for the help and your right about them laptops having to take a little beating. Those lil apple ibooks are the worse when it comes to that. >

True enough. The thin titanium shell may look durable, but it really isn't. The Toughbooks are magnesium alloy, with shock-mounted components...my 10D has the same construction concept...
