I think he sometimes cuts people off when he's "interrogating" them because they make good points that are counter to his. I doubt he's really so bright, but his show is very entertaining...I like most of his points.

It would be awesome to see him one-on-one with Dennis Miller.

I think he is very, very smart.

And while Dennis is a genius in his own right (I really like him too), Bill Maher always uses words that people actually understand. :P
