What would your ideal nightlife venue be like?

Blatantly ripped off from elsewhere, but I'll get more intelligent responses on this side of the pond.

A few starters:

Location (be specific if it is a big city...i.e. don't say Miami, say 'Downtown' or 'Coral Gables'...)?

Door policy?

Format? (i.e. what night is what...)

DJs? (anyone you want...just assume they're all free agents..)

Decor/theme?

and for the geeks among us:

sound/lighting/video specs...

good thread to rack the brains pod...as for me..:::


downtown miami prob (bc up here sucks)
strict, but not too strict at the door..a little stricter than space maybe
ideally i would have a club as big as space..but no side room so the noise doesnt get overlapped..prob a big main room and an upstairs and then terrace for sure...(with the decor that looks like delux)
if i had it my way, i would have a breaks night, dnb night, house and trance night.
breaks would prob be thur, dnb on wed, house and trance flip flop every couple of weeks
as for djs if i only had to choose one resident for each genre....james lavelle for breaks, hernan for house, aphrodite for dnb, and pvd for trance....i would have roland and hybrid on the patio, different nights

i like the dark club feeling that space has..so i would probably want that..more seating though..maybe the upstairs with more lighting and plush couches and stuff like at nikki beach..pation would have lots of tropical plants, maybe a waterfall like going behind the booth and around...crap like that....the lighting and other stuff i have no idea..a loud system like space and lights like it too!!!

A waterfall'd be cool...I'd up your idea by putting LEDs behind it and make it change colors. It'd have to be sealed in somehow, I wouldn't relish the idea of having water behind the booth ;D

def lights behind the waterfall would be sweet....how about like an enclosed one behind the booth...but for the other parts or maybe in vip...let them be open..bet some crazy shit would happen...or maybe one corner of the patio....have a bigger waterfall that is kinda away from the dancefloor, but not too far and have the waterfall, maybe some hammocks..nikki beach idea....your at the party, but you can enjoy it by chilling or hanging out in the water...

First of all I would name the club Haven, why you say well dont ask?

Location- It would definetely be in Downtown actually next to the Video Arcade Place that is next to Space

Door policy- Well there wont be no door policy, as long as your dressed to impress with nice shoes you will allowed. At the door will be complimentary champagne to get the party started. And last there wont be no annoying door man trying to make you look like your nothing at my club everyone is important.

Format? Thursdays(Hip Hop Night), Friday(House) Saturday ((Trance/HardTrance/Techno/Hardstyle/Hardhouse), Sunday(Latin Night)

DJs? Hip Hop Thursdays(Kid Capri, Funkmaster Flex, Dj green Lantern), House Fridays(Shawn Rudnick, Thomas Penton) Eclectic Saturday(George Acosta, Markus Schulz, Lady Dana)

Decor/theme? Mexican/Spaniard Decor done by the guys at Dupoux Design

Sound/lighting/video specs- First of all the sound system would be done by EAWs' KF730 SLAM small line array. The lighting would be done by High End Systems' DL1 and the Video Specs would be Edirols' V-4 Video Mixer and finally the effects would be Omnisistems' Stinger 1MC Laser

Decor/theme? - kinda oriental in look . not a garden like theme like opium but more like the inside of a japanese temple
