August 20, 2004 -- THE boutique hotel business is apparently not lucrative enough for the Rubell clan. The family of the late Studio 54 impressario Steve Rubell is said to be divesting its properties in Miami. The group has sold its Sony building on Lincoln Road and the Beach House Hotel in Bal Harbour, and the Albion and Greenview hotels in South Beach are up for grabs. In their place, the company is investing in an Internet porn site, Bangbus.com. "Jason Rubell has said business is business and there's a lot of money to be made in porn," an insider tells PAGE SIX. Rubell did not return calls for comment.

Rubell is probably realizing what is obvious. There's waaay too many hotels around here considering the numbers of tourists we get, which is a lot, but not enough to fill all the damn hotels around here.
