General Motors Corp. has recalled nearly 1.5 million vehicles in North America, including 946,817 sport utility vehicles, to fix tail lights that could loosen and flicker, the automaker said on Thursday.

that may be, but plenty of car companies have recalls (my acura had 3), but only the ones affecting large amounts of cars make headlines. GM is one of the 2 biggest manufacturers in the world.

While I dont love GMs, a recall like that is no big deal. No if the airbags were deploying incorrectly or something of that nature it would be major.
